About
The KitCaster is a DIY Stratocaster kit I got off the internet some time ago. The kit itself was moderately expensive, but also came with everything ready to assemble. I purchased some additional upgrades since my vision for this instrument was to be a workhorse when it came to generally goofing around. I have a few brand-name guitars, nothing particularly cool or expensive, but I wanted something that I could carry around without having worrying about it. ‘Worrying’ specifically pertaining to bumping it into something or dinging it up particularly badly. As a result, it’s got maybe 6 layers of sandable white primer, and no top coats. Honestly, looks like a pretty passable matte aspen white. The neck and headstock are just sealed with this waxy wipe-on hardware store sealant to prevent any kind of damage from liquids/sweat. It sets in a matte finish and feels great in the hand.
Honestly, after years of use, it does have a few pretty good dings in it, however it also plays and feels the better than most guitars I’ve handled. But I might be a little biased.
